Donations & Fundraising

The Palliative Care Society of the Bow Valley (PCSBV) is planning to raise an estimated amount of $476,000 during our April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019 fiscal year on fund raising campaigns. The PCSBV estimates that it will cost not more than $50,000 to raise this amount. The money raised will be going to promote health by providing, over the long-term, an accredited palliative care unit in the Bow Valley that will provide appropriate palliative care accommodation, therapy and support, at no cost, to residents of the region and beyond who are suffering from terminal, or life-threatening illness, and to support their families before, during and after the loss of their relatives. It is also intended money will go to promoting health by providing trained support volunteers from the local communities to work alongside paid staff working with patients in the palliative care unit or in the community. In addition, we plan to undertake several other activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above charitable purposes.

The PCSBV maintains its financial arrangements through ATB Financial. ATB Financial covers 100% of the PCSBV’s administration and transaction costs on all donations made through ATB Cares, issues automatic tax receipts to donors (through the Canadian Online Giving Foundation) and matches 15% of every dollar donated (up to a maximum of $1,000 in matching per donation) until its annual matching cap is reached.


You can also donate through CanadaHelps which accepts cash donations as well as securities donations. A donation income tax receipt is immediately emailed to your inbox.


Alternatively, your cheque made payable to the “Palliative Care Society of the Bow Valley” can be mailed to our address at 1100 Hospital Place, Canmore, AB T1W 1N2, or dropped off at the Canmore General Hospital Administration Office in an envelope marked to the attention of the “Palliative Care Society of the Bow Valley”.
